Profile photo guidelines
Against a neutral backdrop – ideally beige / white, nothing in the background. You should position yourself about half a metre away from the wall when taking the photo.
Shot with a decent quality camera – if you have a DSLR, this would be perfect, but if you have a high quality phone camera, this should work as well. If you have somebody available to take this image, it’ll help you, but doing a solo shot as well is doable with a timer and something good to rest the phone against / a tripod for your camera!
Lit naturally if you have a wall with some natural light shining in (it can be a relatively flat image as long as your face is fully lit) – otherwise some basic lighting would be valuable too. Nothing too complex – we want to keep this consistent across Doctors!
Shot as a mid shot – essentially the same positioning as the photo included above, ensuring there is a bit of headroom above your head, and the top of your chest area is visible and the photo is taken front on at eye level
Wearing a neutral button up / collared shirt – ideally beige / white, but anything neutral will suffice
Taken in the highest quality format you’re able to – if using a DSLR, this is typically in a RAW format of some kind, and most smartphones will have an option to increase the quality of images to the higher level
Note: if you have an existing photo the fits the above parameters, this will work. Any low quality existing image will NOT work.
